Exam will cover Chapter 1 - 1.1-1.4 (Bring a scantron 882 Form)
Homework 1.1-1.4 will be collected on the exam day. Be sure that all sections are properly and clearly labeled.
Exams and chapter 1 homework to be returned week of October 17th.
Friday, 10/14/05 - Chapter 4 - 4.1 (1-9), 4.2.I (1-8), 4.2.II (1-4), 4.2.III (1-4), 4.2.IV (1-4), Read 4.3 (ignore material on Venn Diagrams, but note material on the modern square of opposition) and 4.5.
Monday, 10/17/05 - chapter 4 - 4.3.II (1-15), 4.5.I (1-8), 4.5.II (1-8)
Friday, 10/21/05 - Read chapter 5 - 5.1 only
Monday, 10/24/05 - chapter 5 - 5.1.I (1-5), 5.1.II (1-10), 5.1.V (1-10)
Wednesday - chapter 5 - 5.3.II (1-10), 5.3.III - Ignore Venn Diagram Part of 5.3.II
Friday - chapter 5 - 5.2.I (1-20) - USE FIVE RULES to determine validity, not Venn Diagrams.  If argument is invalid, state the fallacy committed.
Monday - chapter 5 - 5.1.I (1-5) and 5.1.II (1-10) - Use Five Rules to determine validity. If invalid, state the fallacy committed.
EXAM SCHEDULED FOR FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 4, 2005
Exam will be on Categorical Logic (completed sections of chapters 4 and 5)
Review the four kinds of categorical propositions and their properties, square of opposition, and five rules of validity
Homework for chapters 4 and 5 will be collected in class on the exam date.
